In 2023, Regitze earned a PhD from the faculty of engineering and science at Aalbog University in Copenhagen. The title of the PhD thesis is "Towards Low-carbon Design in the Building Sector" and has specific focus on limiting emissions in building renovation through methods and benchmaks, and implementing life cycle assessment (LCA) in industry practice with the use of BIM. Prior to the PhD, she also worked in research. The research has focused on sustainable buildings as a broad concept, such as sustainable building certification schemes, but also specifically with the environmental sustainability of buildings though performing LCA. Before this, Regitze compelted her masters degree (M.Sc.) in Architectural Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark
