Research profile

I am an Assistant Professor in Strategy & Organization at Aalborg University Business School, Aalborg University, Denmark. My research interests are in the areas of non-market strategy, organizational misconduct and climate change adaptation for firms. My job market paper examines the impact of a regulatory (environmental) foreclosure on spatial competition and strategic repositioning choices of economic actors. I use a natural experiment with commercial fishing vessels where a commercial fishing ban on an area in the Pacific Ocean forces vessels to spatially reposition. Using geospatial data with high spatial and temporal resolution, I examine two treatment effects – announcement and enforcement of the regulatory foreclosure. In related work, I explore various antecedents of organizational misconduct that include incentives, competition, and culture.

Prior to the PhD program, I worked in the financial services sector in Mumbai, India. I hold an MS in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Mumbai.
